Lenovo L78011 spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB RAM

Lenovo has been teasing its upcoming flagship smartphone—Lenovo Z5— in China on June 5. The firm had teased the Lenovo Z5’s bezel-less screen design, its sketch, and its stand-by battery life numbers over the past few weeks. Now, an upcoming phone from Lenovo has been benchmarked using CPU benchmarking tool Geekbench, and we think that it could be the Lenovo Z5.

Speculations were rife that the Lenovo Z5 could feature either the Snapdragon 845, Snapdragon 710, or Snapdragon 660 chipsets. However, a new benchmark listing has made it clear that the Lenovo Z5 will come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Apart from its Geekbench listing, the Lenovo L78011 was also seen in TENAA and FCC certification documents, something that is needed before the launch.

Lenovo L78011: Geekbench Score

The Lenovo Z5 managed to score 1,332 points in Geekbench’s single-core CPU test and 4,696 points in its multi-core CPU test. The handset appears to be powered by an octa-core 1.61GHz CPU (Snapdragon 660), which is paired with 6GB of RAM. It is running the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system: Android 8.1 (Oreo). Chances are that the smartphone will stock Android interface since Lenovo had pledged to offer clean version of Android starting last year.

As far as the details about the smartphone revealed by the FCC are concerned, the certification documents only mention the device’s model number: Lenovo L78011. The same is true for the phone’s TENAA certification documents. If you are interested in knowing what the Lenovo Z5 could offer, keep reading the article.

Lenovo Z5: What We Know So Far

Going by the information that was revealed over the past few days, we expect the phone to offer a bezel-less screen with Full HD+ resolution and 95% screen-to-body ratio. If this is the case, the Z5 will compete against the likes of the Vivo NEX which is expected to feature a similarly large and bezel-less screen. Furthermore, it has already been confirmed that the Lenovo Z5 could have up to 4TB of storageand can store close to 1 million images, 150,000 lossless music tracks, and 2,000 HD resolution movies.

The Lenovo Z5 is even rumoured to feature 6GB of RAM, and we can the same amount of RAM in its Geekbench test result. Last but not the least, the Lenvoo Z5 is claimed to last up to 45 days of stand-by time on a single charge. However, you should take this information with a pinch of salt as we can’t neglect a possibility of the existence of a variant of the Lenovo Z5 featuring Snapdragon 845 chipset. There’s also a chance of the current Geekbench entry being from a completely different smartphone from Lenovo.
